Description:
THE RAVENMOCKER - psychological thriller
BUDGET $2.5M -- Multiple investors okay - MIN $500k
Death is Brannan Isaac’s passion, and that is why he is a Medical Examiner. His eccentricities are chalked up to his line of work but even so, most of the tenants in the run down building where he lives are wary of him. Secretly, he has even been known to take a trophy home following an autopsy. But Brannan is beyond eccentricity - as SOPHIA, the sickly teenage girl from his building who has a crush on him, is about to discover. And when young children are abducted and the finger is pointed in his direction, Brannan cannot contain his shocking secret any longer…
... …Forget what you've seen on CSI - the PATH LAB is no longer glamorous…
Audiences who enjoyed movies such as THE GRUDGE franchise, THE RING franchise, DARK WATER, SE7EN, and the HANNIBAL LECTER franchise plus audiences who enjoy shows like CSI and BONES, will enjoy THE RAVENMOCKER. Interest in the demented human psyche seems unlikely to diminish, and the hinted at occult basis of this story is sure to add to its morbid attraction. The ending creates an opportunity to build on the success of the story by creating a series of sequels and establishing a franchise that can follow either the purely human/psychotic line, or can deviate to explore the occult origins of THE RAVENMOCKER. The Ravenmocker is a name from Cherokee myth but shares its mythos with the TRUE nature of the European Vampire, centered on the Balkan countries and Greece.
Some recent successes within this genre include:
Film Title Budget Box Office (Worldwide)
Se7en $33M $327M
The Grudge $10M $69M
The Ring $45M $230M
Hannibal Rising $50M $80.6M
Unlike the above examples, THE RAVENMOCKER is a lower-budget feature, with a budget that doesn’t even cross $5 million. The producer(s) believe that this budget level allows for the greatest possible return without sacrificing production value or story quality.
Established producer(s) attached. Mamie Jean, Peter Lancett and myself. In negotiation to attach Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds, CBS - www.imdb.com/name/nm1693763) and Jessica Stroup (90210, CW - www.imdb.com/name/nm1888211) for the lead roles.
We are talking to two interested directors, Eduardo Sanchez (www.imdb.com/name/nm0844896) and Louis Mandylor (www.imdb.com/name/nm0541909).
The story is has been set in Pittsburgh for two reasons, in the first place, Batpack Studios is based there and we intend to use them for the supply of full facility on this feature equipment, crewing, logistics, production management, and post production. You can view their website at www.batpackstudios.com.
Secondly, Pennsylvania uses film production to utilise a film-friendly state with a tax credit incentive almost guaranteeing a near 25% return on investment BEFORE distribution.
The producer(s) will seek distribution for the film upon its completion. Relationships/contacts already exist with Marimax and Rogue Pictures, as well as other distribution companies.
Will send COMPLETE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY upon request.
